What’s the difference between a freelance web designer or web developer?
The terms are interchangeable. Web developers, designers or webmasters, design and maintain websites. A freelancer in this context is just anyone looking for jobs for a freelance web developer. These enthusiasts are for hire to do random jobs like a contractor. They might design and develop basic website layouts or advanced interactive website features.
A web developer presents services to a wide audience by creating attractive, functional websites. They will likely be asked to identify potential site users and design a website to appeal to these constituents. Sometimes a web developer will meet with clients to discuss their desires for a website or discuss how to keep their website functioning and up to date. Web developers will construct the layout of a website, creating a visually interesting home page and user-friendly design. They may also write the content for a website. After a website is up and running, making sure that it’s functional on all web browsers, periodically testing and updating it as needed. A client may also need their developer to include interactive capabilities on their site using Visual Basic or Java programming languages. All web developers should have a working knowledge of PHP, which is the most common server side scripting language.
